69 Nova Street Racer

March 2010

This model was built as a tribute to a young lady, who lost her battle with leukemia on May 6, 2005. For the last few years, several members of a Yahoo group, I belong to, have built models in her honor. Her favorite color was purple, so the main color of our builds is purple.

I moved out of my comfort zone, on this one. I narrowed the rear frame, added fuel lines, plug wires, wheel & tire swap, and a scatch built shifter. It's built to be a street racer, with a big block, with a tunnel ram intake, & fat tires. When I reworked the rear chassis, I shortened it, slightly, to cure the tail light panel fitting at the wrong angle. Paint is Testors Model Master Plumb Crazy Purple, airbrushed.
