Early 60's T Bucket

April 2011

This was a fun little build. Built to represent an early 60's Fad T. It went together, pretty fast & easy, considering all the parts swapping, from other kits.

Round 2 release of the 60's AMT kit. It has a lot of flash & the instructions are terrible. It does come with some very nice tires, including a pair of awesome pie cut slicks, that I will be using on future builds.

Engine is from an AMT 289 Cobra, rear wheels & tires from Monogram 'Lil Coffin, front wheels from an MPC Fire Truck, tires from parts box, interior & chassis modified to fit the small block Ford

Finished chassis & engine. Magneto & headers are from the Round 2 Model T kit. Velocity stacks are scratch built fron aluminum tubing

The overhead view shows the scratch built venturi tubes I put into the carbs. Note the generator, this is an early 60's T Bucket

From the rear, the quick change rear end & fuel log can be seen behind the carbs

Body painted Testors Metel Flake Red, decanted from the spray can & shot with an airbrush

It's a blood red with gold matalic. A very warm color

Even though it looks shiney, I shot the interior with semi gloss back

Radiator & stock Model T steering wheel on a scratch built column

Chassis with radiator & hoses installed

Underside view. Driveshaft is made from U-Joints from a parts box driveshaft & aluminum tubing

Finished chassis waiting for the body & interior

The wait is over
